Pilgrimage tour to Santiago along the coastline of Portugal & Spain
The Portuguese Coastal Way to Santiago is the right choice for those who, in addition to a spiritual experience, seek contact with the sea and nature. It brings the pilgrims to the most westerly part of Portugal and Spain, through the northern coastline.
You can see historical places and several footprints left over the times proving that this path is marked by its history. Along the way, you find the main central way that will lead you to your destination: Santiago de Compostela.
Day 1
Arrival to Porto
Arrival at Oporto. Accommodation, city trip or just transfer from the airport to the hostel.
Accommodation in a hostel.
Day 2
Walking Pilgrimage starts
Brief tour in Oporto. Then, trip to Caminha, located on the Portuguese boarder. Ferry boat to the small town of A Guarda. Walking on foot from the port to the hotel (about 30min).

Day 3
Oia – Atlantic coast
Breakfast. Walking to the village of Oia. The trail runs between the beautiful beaches of the Spanish coast and road C-550.
Accommodation in Casa Puertas. Overnight.

Baiona – place of discoveries
On the route to Baiona we will enjoy beautiful beaches, cliffs and farmlands.

Day 5
Arrival to Vigo - Islas Cies views
Breakfast. Following the path, in Monte San Roman, you will enjoy splendid views over the Islas Cies, pass through small villages and forests to finally get to Vigo city.

Day 6
Redondela
This step is easy and quick. After leaving Vigo we will go along the creek, which will lead us to Cidadelle, Alto da Ercarnatión then begin the descent until Redondela.

Day 7
Pontevedra, medieval town
We will go towards Outeiro de Penas, a place known for the best oysters in Galicia. Then we will go through the medieval bridge over the Verdugo river towards the town of Pontevedra where we will go for a well deserved rest.

Day 8
Caldas de Reis arrival
Tour starts by going through the beautiful, historic center of Pontevedra. Following the way we will see the first crosses that lead to Santiago.

Padrón – a crucial spot of the path
Crossing medieval bridges, the route leads to forests, meadows and rivers to get to Padrón.

Arrival to Santiago de Compostela
Pilgrimage route end. The trail leads to the city: we'll arrive to old city Faxeira's gate.
